Pita Bread also known as pocket bread and made with white or whole wheat flour. Pita can be cut into wedges and served with meals or appetizers, especially dips, or is halved crosswise, and the resulting pockets may be filled with various vegetables, salads to make a sandwich. We love to serve it with traditional hummus, fresh herbs and cucumbers. Pitas are pretty amazing just warm from the oven with a drizzle of your favorite oil.

Turnip Soup with Carrot Crisps

The spring is here, I can feel it! The birds are singing and the air is so fresh. I love the early mornings, when I come down to my patio to check out the weather and I can feel how the earth is waking up after a long sleep. But before we all dive into yellow colors, Easter eggs and pink flowers I would like to say good bye to the winter, to those cold days when we were sharing great food with our dear friends by the fireplace, to winter holidays and to snowflakes (we had snow only 3 times this winter), and many more unforgettable moments of the past season. We had a long walk with my daughter in Taylor Park on a beautiful sunny and warm day, and yet the presence of winter is still here. We are in a middle of season change and I love the times when winter is holding hands with spring.
Simple Soup with Turkey Meatballs and Quinoa

Recently I have come across works of fantastic illustrator Norman Rockwell who is very talented artist from New York. I could not help to buy some of his prints. I love book illustrations and have tons of vintage cookbooks with amazing pictures. They have so many details and flavors - I can peer at them for hours, there is something so homey in them... And often I just get an urge to go and cook something, even something very simple, but just to make everyone around happy. This is the story behind this post and the Turkey Meatballs Soup with Quinoa recipe. During long cold winter evenings a bowl of this soup can not only warm up your body, but make your heart melt.
