Watermelons in great variety are one of the most refreshing of fruits. Serve them well chilled, in combination with other fruits and vegetables, for example - radishes. And why not? Use other herbs if you like - fresh dill, cilantro. Everyone seems to have different tastes about the proper seasoning.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Chinese radish (Daikon), peeled and sliced thinly
- 1/4 small watermelon, peeled and sliced thinly
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- thyme, sage
- salt and freshly ground pepper
- smoked paprika to taste
- 2 Tbsp. grape seed oil
Directions:
Arrange watermelon and radish slices on a plate. In a small bowl whisk together grape seed oil, lemon juice, herbs, paprika, salt and pepper. Dress the salad just before serving. Have a good lunch!

You come up with such interesting combinations! Watermelon and Daikon sounds so unexpected! :)
Thank you, Madeja. Actually it was pretty good! Even my husband liked it-)
We've been eating a lot of daikon radish this time of the year, but never had it with the watermelon. The taste and flavor of this two ingredients marry well together, I can imagine it with my taste buds. The only thing left is to find watermelon! Beautiful photos! :)
A delightful salad and original combination! Great pictures of the watermelon (my favorite is the 3rd from the top).
Cheers,
Rosa
